17th edition of Art Dubai.

Art Dubai 2024 contains two booths by Meem Gallery, one Modern (M-1) and one Contemporary (D-9), both located in the Johara Hall at Art Dubai.

The Modern Booth (M-1) looks at work by artists from the post-World War II geopolitical landscape of the region that was influenced and affected by the Soviet Union. Meem brings key works such as the Water Carriers (c1950’s) and the Untitled work (c1960’s) by Mahmoud Sabri; Figures in Red (1968) by Dia al-Azzawi; Baghdadiyat drawings by Jewad Selim; multiple works by Kadhim Hayder including the overall sketch for the famed Martyr Series and two key sculptures by Ismail Fattah, all from Iraq. Meem is presenting the 1961 Abstract work produced by Marwan in reaction to the construction of the Berlin Wall, the city he lived in that became divided.

In the Contemporary Booth (D-9), Meem Gallery brings together a collection of new and unseen works by the artists Dia al-Azzawi, Walid Siti and Zhivago Duncan. The works represent the best examples of their work, presented for the first time at Art Dubai 2024.
