The idea of time and place is the stimulant to review life in another new artistic way. And memory is what is stored inside us from the existing constant and moving things. There is no doubt that there are times in our lives that influence us whether we are conscious or unconscious; they motivate us to work on a particular project aiming to regain them.
The study of the portrait started at a very early stage; it inspired man long ago and still has its inspiring influence on us till now. The theme of this collection focuses on a particular time through the idea of 'Memory and Portrait'. It represents some characters of the 1960s and of the past century which are engraved in my memory. I tried to reform those characters through a new modern prospective. This depends on the external embodiment of some of those 1960s characters, through researching the chemical compound of the oil paint, in addition to the influence of those characters on me as an artist and on the memory of that time.
I am so glad to present my humble experiments at Meem Gallery, and I do hope that the oriental colours in this collection will bring viewers back to the memory of that beautiful time.
